Personal Description:
Lesley and Graeme, both in their early 60’s, happily married since 1969, list their proudest achievements as their two daughters and now four grandchildren.
They are frequent golf travellers, enjoy dining out and entertaining family and friends at home, and are regulars at Adelaide Crows games during the Australian Football League season.
Lesley is kept busy with Grandma duties in Adelaide and Sydney, golf about twice a week, and part-time work in retail (in that order of priority).
After a Corporate career and more than 30 years of self employment, Graeme is an internet entrepreneur serving the Seniors market. As well as at least two social rounds of golf each week, he is actively involved with the Senior Golf community, representing Kooyonga Golf Club in over 55’s Pennant, and taking every chance to participate in Masters Games and other competitive opportunities.
Appeal of my local neighbourhood:
Our suburb of Gilberton, located between the Adelaide parklands and the Torrens Linear Park, is within walking distance of the Adelaide CBD, particularly the restaurants in the East End, site of the annual Fringe Festival.
We are an easy stroll to the cafes on Melbourne Street North Adelaide, as well as the Zoo, Royal Botanic Gardens, the Festival Centre and the world’s most attractive cricket ground, Adelaide Oval.
Driving in Adelaide is a breeze, with everything “about 15 minutes away” – the beaches, the Hills wine area, regional shopping. The world famous wine districts of the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale require a 60 minute drive.
The top four golf courses, including Kooyonga are grouped in our own “sand belt” – about 15 minutes away.

As capital of South Australia, Adelaide is literally the gateway to a brilliant blend of the best of nature’s offerings, and man-made comforts.
Your choice of nature’s wonders include Kangaroo Island (recently voted the world’s best for sustainable tourism), the outback of the Flinders Ranges or Wilpena Pound, the coastal areas of the Yorke, Eyre and Fleurieu Peninsula, or the mighty Murray River.
When it comes to wine and fine food, the arts and theatre, nowhere does it better than Adelaide and South Australia. For Major Events, there’s the Clipsal 500 motor racing, the Tour Down Under UCI Pro Tour or the International Rugby Sevens.

Lesley and Graeme are both members of Kooyonga Golf Club and are proud to invite their guests to enjoy a great traditional golf course and club.
Because of their many friends at Kooyonga, and other top ranking courses, Lesley and Graeme can ensure their exchange guests enjoy Member Introduced green fees - whether they are at home or not.
Since its opening in 1923, Kooyonga has hosted five Australian Opens and three Australian Amateur Championships, as well as numerous South Australian Opens and Amateur Championships.
Regularly ranked around 12 in Australia’s best courses, Kooyonga was listed in the Golf Digest World’s Top 50 Courses as number 31.

Apart from Kooyonga, Adelaide has 3 other private members' courses classified as Category 1 - Royal Adelaide, Glenelg and The Grange. All are located about 15 minutes away.
Among many good courses on the Fleurieu Peninsula, Links Lady Bay at Normanville is a challenging favourite.
